Hi All.

I have a Raspberry Pi, and am looking forward to the camera, though I haven't been able to buy one yet.  I just ordered a cubieboard, because it's power to the USB ports is better than the Pi, and it looks interesting.  I see that it has a camera connection, on the pins at least.  Has anyone hooked up a camera this way, not to the USB ports but to the, I believe they are, CSI pins?  What camera did you use, and did it work well?  Thanks for any information you can provide.

I just used a usb camera. Since the cubieboard USB works unlike the other device you mention. I was able to get full frame rate and use it with a 6 dollar usb camera.

Would you post the camera model, as a matter of information for the forum ?

Following models have been tested by me on the cubieboard. Some required custom modules to run and so on. I have also gone as far as a xtion pro live and currently working on the kinect and ps3 camera. As my use is related to robotics and vision processing with ROS and opencv.

Which of the below USB cameras did not need a special module?  Thanks.

There are over 600 supported webcams with drivers in the linux kernel, you just need to turn them on before compiling ...

What he said i just had to compile the drivers into the kernel. Except for kinect and xtion pro. those are different.

Andrew Carlson,

Were you able to connect the Raspberry Pi camera to the Cubieboard via CSI?
Thanks!
