I'm building a project that needs a stepper motor to drive a wheel at a pretty good torque.

I bought a small unipolar stepper motor from Jameco (25BY4801) - simple 5v, 500ma motor with 110g/cm holding torque.

I'm driving it using a ULN2003 darlington array - you just need to ground one side of the motor windings at a time to get it to step.

However, it wasn't strong enough for my needs.

So, I designed a gearbox to give it more torque.

It uses standard small plastic motor gears you can get from multiple sources online.
