I purchased two E3Dv6 hot ends. The thermistor that came with the E3D's is 200K but the thermistor in the CubeX hot end is 100K That wouldn't be a problem if I had already done the Reprap conversion since I could select the correct thermistor profile, but alas, I have not and it's going to be several more months before I have time. And of course, both CubeX hot ends are broken.

So, can anybody tell me what thermistor I should purchase? I'm concerned that installing a basic 100K thermistor may not track closely enough. Can anybody who has replaced the CubeX hot ends tell me what worked for you?

Thanks.

Hi,

You have to use a 230k thermistor to get the right value.

I'm using this one with an E3D-Lite6:

Sometimes I get one or more temp error codes while the hot end is heating up and other times I don't. When I get the error code, I just continue and it prints fine. I'm guessing that the error is because the resistance/temp curve is somewhat different from the original thermistor.

Those issues can came from an other reason, try to fix your thermistor with a thermal glue/paste. This will sork better.

Thanks to everybody who responded. I appreciate your time and effort.

I decided to go ahead with the Reprap conversion. I will keep the thermistors that came with my E3Dv6 hot ends.
