So, I have a Cube X 3D Printer, and it is always having all sorts of issues, most of witch i can figure out how to fix with some good old fashioned troubleshooting. Recently though i have run into an issue that i can not seam to break, i will try to print a part, for example a calibration cube that measures 1x1x1cm. The print starts just fine with the print head zipping along as it should, but once it gets to around the 4th layer it decides to drop the target temp down to 200-180 degrees Celsius. This causes the part to come out very different than planned, as the extruder can not do its job properly without the ability to properly extrude! I have to manually bring the temp back up to 240 using the onscreen controlls, but this makes it so i have to stay with my prints for at least an hour!

Info on the prints:

Using PLA Red
.25 layer thickness
Using the CubeX Duo 3D Printer

Any other questions feel free to ask!

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help me troubleshoot this strange issue, Thanks again  -Isaac N.

What are you using to slice? The Cubex printer driver? KISSlicer?
The Cubex driver will set the temperatures for your material based on your cartridge selection.
KISSlicer lets you define the temperature settings for each material.
The first layer will print at a higher temperature then the other layers.
The hot first layer at 220c is close to the maximum PLA printing temperature.
190-200 is normal printing temperature for PLA additional layers. ( depending on the PLA properties )
You want the additional layers to be cooler so you can hold details in the print better.
If it is too hot, it won't cool down in time for the next layer.
