I've got a single head CubeX for a couple of days now, but still not printing anything. Here's the thing..
Whenever I press the home position button, the print head starts moving to the left until it hits the metal frame, the problem is that it wants to move even further so it starts "grinding" the belts! At that point I need to press the button below the display, to stop it from tearing itself up! If I try to enter manual move mode after that it will resume its "self-destruct" move to the left until i touch any of the move controls. So, manual move works fine, but its home position obviously got messed up somehow. Can anyone please help???

Here's some info to assist with diagnosing a problem with the limit switches:

Checking your limit switches:
The CubeX uses magnetic limit switches. You can test the limit switches work using
the magnets that are already on the machine.

Testing the X and Y limit switches
To test the X and Y limit switches, when the machine is powered off at the mains,
push the print jet carriage to its limits in the back left corner of the machine.
Power the machine on and select the manual move option.

If the machine is pushed back to its limits, there should be an XY present in
the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

If the X or Y is not present, please contact cubify support: cubify...@cubify.com

Testing the Z limit switch
To test the Z limit switch you will need to move the Print Jet carriage to the center of
the machine. If you remove the print pad from the machine and turn it over you will see a magnet.

Position the print pad so that the magnet is as close as possible to the Z limit switch.
A Z should appear in the bottom left hand corner of the manual move screen. If it
does not, please contact cubify support: cubify...@cubify.com

Sometimes the sensors come loose and slide into the mounting block (out of sensing range) and therefore the carriage hits a hard stop (grinding) before it detects the sensor. See if you can pull the sensor out.
The sensor is secured (pinched) with a set screw from the bottom. Make sure to not over tighten the sensor.
You can loosen the setscrew if it is not already loose, and try to pull the sensor further out.

Yup, it was the X axis sensor, it got pushed "inside" during transport. Just to double check, how far should the Y axis home position be (front-back)? Currently its parallel to the waste bin, so the head is outside the print plate area.. When I push the home it goes to the middle of the print plate and after that "parks" in the back left corner. Seems ok to me..

Thanks, everyone!!!

Where is the Z sensor?

Thanks,

You will quickly find out that a surge protector with a shutoff switch is a NECESSITY with your CubeX.

So, how do you get at that sensor? I can't find a set screw. Currently the fan on the jets is running into the z-axis vertical screw/rod.

Take the entire outer cover off, the setscrew is in the back of the that left rear tower.

And, you don't mean Z, you mean Y axis.
If you run the fan into the Z rod, that Y axis (front to back) and the sensor setscrew is again, in the left rear tower, must remove the main outer cover to access.
