Hello,

New to Cubex forum.  Upgraded from a REP2 (after 11 months) in hopes to add more color to my prints without constantly switching out filament, all while extruding at varying layer heights.

Anyway, I have tried to find an answer to this here, but haven't seen it yet.  Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

I just do not have the option to click on 'Save Print File', since it is Greyed-Out.

Thank you.

Hello Eric,
Welcome.
I have not done much multicolor prints. It is not that straight forward and my success has been limited.
There is a post in my blog about it. Hope it helps some.

I hate to ask the obvious, but...
You've loaded your STL files to print and built it?
To print multiple colors, you will need to assign a different color to each imported shell (each STL import creates a shell).
If you have one part that needs to be multi-color, export the part as multiple STL files - a STL for each color with only that color's features enabled.
Use the Open Model Assembly to merge multiple STL files as one part with multiple shells.
Click each shell and assign different colors to them.
After you merge the STL files together, click the Build to generate a build.
After you get a build, the Save will be available.
However, it will not light up until the other toolbar options are de-selected (click any active toolbar options to de-select them)

Thanks Rick.  As of now, I'm just trying one color.  But I found it was something so obvious; I skipped the BUILD section.

Also, I was not able to access your Blog, it says that my account dose not have access to this page.

Thank you Peter.  Obvious is always good.  I overlooked the Build section, and that seems to have solved it.  So, I'm currently printing.

I had to switch to another print head that was closer to the build plate.  I'll read up on how to adjust that.  First I'll need to figure out if it's the build plate that needs leveling, or if it's the individual nozzles.  But so far, the build quality is far behind my MB Replicator2 when considering the finish.  I hope it's just a matter of dialing in, but am concerned after reading a bunch on this forum.  PLUS - my red PLA is sticking, so I had to pull out a bunch to free it up.

Thanks again.
