Pack 3600 Families,

The information forwarded below regards Discover Engineering Family Day at the National Building Museum, which is NEXT Saturday, February 18.

If you click on the link and then select the "Cub Scout Badge Worksheet," you will get a handout which lists den-level requirements/electives which can be met during the event by doing fun things your Scout would probably like to do, anyway.  It appears to be quite thorough.  (For those of you with Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts in the family, there are worksheets for them, as well.)

Subject: Discover Engineering Family Day at NBM

Dear Scout Parents and Leaders,

Thank you for rsvp’ing to attend the Discover Engineering Family Day at the National Building Museum on Saturday, February 18, 2012. To help you prepare for the family day, we have created some scout worksheets. Click here to download the worksheets: http://www.nbm.org/families-kids/scouts-and-youth-groups/defd-scout-worksheets.html

The scout worksheets indicate which badge requirements will be met by completing the activities offered by the various engineering organizations. Please print out this worksheet and bring it with you to the festival. We will have a scout information table if you have questions during the day, however you do not need to check-in at the scout information table.

Girl Scout Leaders: We have only referenced the new Journeys and badges on the worksheets. We are still working on adapting our programming to these new requirements. We did not find as many connections as with the old badges. Please be patient with us as we adjust to the new Girl Scout requirements.

There are over 30 different activities and demonstrations that will be happening continuously between 10 am and 4:30 pm. You are welcome to visit the Museum anytime between 10:00 am and 4:30 pm. There is lots to do, but please remember you do not need to complete every activity.

This is one of our busiest festival days, attracting over 8,000 people during the course of the day. Please keep this in mind as you plan your day.

We look forward to seeing you next weekend.

Thank you,

Mary
