Good afternoon!

I know it seems like it has been forever since our Blue and Gold Banquet.  Hopefully everyone has had a good Spring Break, made it through the feet of snow, and everything is still attached after the crazy wind storms!

I want to take this opportunity to get some announcements out as we work to round out our events for the Spring, work on getting everyone completed and advanced for the year, and start to outline some summer activities!!  I have updated the Google calendar at pack193.org.  I know there are some issues with certain browsers and phones where it is displaying in UTC time which is 6 hours ahead of Mountain and moves things into different days.  I am working to see how to resolve the issue.  It is set at Mountain time on the Pack side, and does display properly in some browsers.
  • PACK MEETING - TOMORROW - Tuesday, April 16th.
    • Johnson Elementary School
    • 6:30pm
    • Wolves will do the Opening and Closing
    • We will be handing out belt loops for the Dens
    • Tigers will be displaying their castle from a previous Den Activity
    • Bears will be displaying their woodworking projects from Baloo the Builder Adventure
    • BEARS, please bring one dessert item for the dessert raffle
    • Lions will be helping us play a game
  • Pack Outing - Colorado State University Observatory!
    • Friday, April 26th
    • 1251 Libbie Coy Way, Fort Collins, CO 80521
    • We will confirm the time - right now it is 8:30pm since it needs to be dark to use the telescope - WE WILL CONFIRM this time.
    • Weather Back-up date is Friday, May 10th
      • CSU will contact us the afternoon of April 26th if the weather is NOT good.  We will stay in touch via email
  • Spring Hike
    • I am looking into the option for a spring hike.  Looking at the short loop fo Devil's Backbone up to the Key Hole.  We would back our five essentials, and look to eat our snack at the Key Hole.
    • I am looking at a Sunday morning in efforts to avoid sporting events.  I do know that may cause some interference with church activities.
    • Stay tuned for more information.
  • May Pack Meeting - End of the Year BBQ - Advancement to the next Den!!
    • This is a very exciting end-of-the year celebration!  This is where we award the Den Patch (Lion, Tiger, Wolves, Bear) for completing all the required adventures! Scouts get their new neckerchief and their next book for their next adventure!
    • It is our hope that at this meeting, those who earned the "Dunk Someone" prize from Chocolate Sales will also be able to complete this activity.
    • This will be a basic BBQ, as well.
    • The date is currently sent to Tuesday, May 21st.  We have some conflicts with this date.  We will be getting back to you with other date options.  We may have to look at a different night of the week, just because of the timing of the end of the year.  More information to come in the next few weeks.
  • Summer Cub Scout Camping Opportunities through the Adventure West Council
    • The council puts on three family camping weekends for Cub Scouts throughout the summer at Camp Jack Nicol (up near Red Feather - same place as Haunted weekend).  These weekends give your family the opportunity to do a weekend camp!
    • I have updated the Google Calendar at pack193.org with the information we have now.  Each calendar event has a link to the general council calendar event, and then it also has its separate registration link (if available). Registration for Weekends 1 and 2 are open.  Registration for Weekend 4 opens later this week.  They have not posted any information on programs yet, but I am sure shooting sports will be involved.  It is fun to get a few families together to go for a weekend, if schedules work out!
    • The weekends are:
      • June 21st - June 23rd
      • June 28th - June 30th
      • July 19th - July 21st
  • The Leadership Team is working on putting together a summer activity or two.
    • We are planning our annual Summer Pool Party.
      • This is typically a Tuesday night late in July.  Hopefully we won't be rained out this year!
      • We typically have done this at Village Green Pool -  If you are a member of Village Green Pool - please send me an email as we typically need a pool member sponsor for the application for rental.
    • Are there other thoughts of activities you would like to see over the summer?
