An apology for any misunderstanding of the artists to perform at the
2nd Annual Festival Del Cuatro in California, September 1st, 2007
The Festival Del Cuatro organization would like to extend an apology
to followers of our organization if they where not clear as to who
would perform at the 2nd Annual Festival Del Cuatro in California.
Encinitas, CA, April 18, 2008: About a month ago it was brought to
our attention, by Elizabeth Baez from www.baezfineart.com that Mr.
Prodigio Claudio emailed her regarding the use of his name and image
in the poster used for the Festival Del Cuatro. Mr. Claudio proceeded
to explain that he was concerned about his hard-earned reputation
being used for financial gain without his authorization. Ms. Baez
replied that the original painting resulted from an open request to
the community of Puerto Rican Cuatro followers by the Festival Del
Cuatro organization (www.festivaldelcuatro.org) asking for a visual
work of art depicting �The Masters of the Puerto Rican Cuatro� . This
piece of artwork would in turn be used for as the poster for the 2nd
Festival Del Cuatro in California. Ms. Baez researched the matter and
found that knowledgeable persons considered Yomo Toro, Edwin Colon
Zayas, Alvin Medina and Prodigio Claudio to be �The Masters of the
Cuatro�. As a response to Mr. Claudio�s statements, Ms. Baez
contacted the Festival del Cuatro to make us aware of her
communication with Mr. Claudio and to removal of a digital
representation of her painting that appeared in our website.
Mr. Claudio discussed the matter with the Festival Del Cuatro
organization stating that several persons had called him to ask why he
did not show up at the 2nd Annual Festival Del Cuatro. I replied that
at no time, either in writing or verbally, had the Festival del Cuatro
announced that Mr. Claudio would be performing at such festival. Ms.
Baez gave us exclusive rights to use the poster for our festival and
we proceeded to use it.
I would like to offer an apology to anyone who thought, mistakenly,
that Mr. Claudio would be performing and we will continue to offer you
clear information of upcoming festivals in order to avoid any
misunderstandings as to who will be performing in future festivals.
Stay tuned, as we are working on a new look for our website, with much
new content and with details for the 3rd Festival Del Cuatro in
California.

No, No, No. We have no reason to avoid him but if he is invited it
will be later on. This person is very problematic and he is probing us.
For now, we need to close this matter and avoid legal complications.
Later on, we can invite him but on our terms and not because we are
pressured to do so.
