Has the NWIS and other WOF reflectors moved to WDC, or are still at SDSC?

One aspect of the recent HIS Central transition from SDSC to the WDC is still not clear to me.

According to the WDC-hosted registry of WaterOneFlow services here
http://hiscentral.cuahsi.org/pub_services.aspx
the WSDL URL for all NWIS services are still at http://river.sdsc.edu. Same is true for a number of other WOF "reflectors" (services from original providers that are dynamically mapped and reserved as SOAP WOF by SDSC/HIS Central), including EPA STORET.

Can someone clarify the status? I was hoping that the HIS WOF access to NWIS would be more stable now (less likely to return access errors at any given time), assuming it had been ported to more robust systems managed by the WDC.

Thanks,

Hi Emilio,

The WDC staff is currently in the process of re-engineering the NWIS transducer and then will move on to engineering a transducer for the Water Quality Portal. While we are working on these, we have left the SDSC NWIS data services and STORET service available in the catalog. The new NWIS services will likely be up in the next 2-3 months.

Hope this helps to clarify,

Jon

Thank you, Jon. That's very clear. Also, great to hear about the Water Quality Portal efforts.

Cheers,
