My opinion is I would rather have too much info than too little. That
is why I subscribe to this list, modem trouble list, html list,
infoweek, InfoWorld, PCWeek, etc..etc..etc...
(if I could only figure out how to subscribe to Digit....)
peace

Subject: RE: "Free" support, a thing of the past?
I thought I would offer a few comments to Mark's message about the new
Desktop and LAN services ITS is offering. Indeed, ITS is offering a new
suite of services to the campus. Included are access to a central server
for
file sharing, printing, and collaboration; local server management; and
full
desktop support.
These services are targeted for departments who either do not have a
network
manager or do not desire the capital outlay for their own server. It is
important to note that these are new services and do not represent a
change
in services or the cost for what is currently available to the members
of
UCBNMG. We did not send a notice to this group because we felt that
these
services would not appeal to the network managers who have the
capability
and resources to support their local network.
Lastly, ITS understands the fiscal realties faced today and will
certainly
provide early warning to our customers of any impact to their budgets.
