If you don't have swipe access to the CS department, don't despair: just ask in the office next to the inner door for them to let you in (or wait for someone with access).
Also, welcome to the group to the new members and welcome back to the old ones! Colin Raffel passed the torch (or perhaps I should say Lasagne) to me and Oscar Chang to continue coordinating this group when he graduated and moved to Google Brain (congrats Colin!).
Our plan is to have a mix of invited speakers and sessions where we take turns presenting and discussing papers. This means we need people to take the lead on presenting a paper or a selection of related papers: please email me and Oscar if you want to be added to the schedule. You don't have to be an expert on the paper you present; if you still have questions about it that's fine - that's why we're meeting!
We were also thinking it would be nice for everyone to get idea of how others are using deep learning in their research or classes so if you would like to talk about something you're done in a short 5 minute presentation or discussion, please let us know.
And if you have ideas for speakers or suggestions for the group, please email us anytime.
