The CU Ethical Hacking club got sent this. I though it might also be of interest here...

It's about an upcoming hackathon with a cleantech focus. Let me know if anyone is interested in putting together a team.

Hi Andy,

Not sure if you are the best contact, but didn't find the CU Hackers Club info, and am running out the door… Can you share this with interested parties? Seems cool.  And Earth Day is coming up… but this is in May, so maybe the grad students will be around?

Much Obliged,
Sarah Dawn

Hi Sarah,

The Boulder Cleanweb Hackathon has now moved out to May 18-20, to coincide with Boulder StartUp Week. We'll have a registration page up soon. In the meantime, teams can start forming through hackerleague.org/hackathons/boulder-cleanweb-hackathon.

I'll get back to you as soon as our registration page is up.

Thanks!
Chrysa

Hi Chrysa,

Thank you so much for reaching out, I will be sure this is included in our outreach to students!  We have over 400 read our weekly volunteer email, so I know there will be some interest.

Please keep me posted and how we can support the event.

All Smiles,

Sarah Dawn

Hi Environmental Center,

I wanted to let you know about an event that's happening in April - the Boulder Cleanweb Hackathon - over Earth Day weekend, April 20-22.

I'm helping to organize the Boulder Cleanweb Hackathon and my company, Tendril, is a sponsor. The goal of the cleanweb hackathon is to get a bunch of engineers and designers together to build apps that address environmental resources constraints and sustainability issues. I'm writing you to ask for your help in getting the word out to students who are hackers or user interface designers.

There have been two previous Cleanweb Hackathons, the first in San Francisco in Sept 2011 and the second in NYC three weeks ago. Both hackathons were wonderful successes - 15 apps were created in NYC and Aneesh Chopra, U.S. CTO, joined us to share his remarks and talk with hackers.

The main web site for these hackathons is cleanwebhack.com, but the Boulder info isn't up yet. Preliminary Boulder Cleanweb Hackathon info is up on hackerleague.org. If you'd like to see what was accomplished at the NYC hackathon, here are some links to some of the press articles.

-       Social media for a cleaner web

-    The Cleanweb takes off

-       Cleanweb hackers get busy with energy data

-    Developers make a difference at cleanweb hack

Would you please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
Chrysa
