I'm hoping that everyone who knew Jing posts their thoughts and
memories, both to help Jing’s many friends remember her, and to serve
as a resource for incoming Chinese students and for American students
interested in learning Chinese. If everyone who knew Jing posts a
thought or two about her, her legacy will live on, and what Jing
represented--selfless devotion to helping others, learning about
languages and cultures with an open mind and open heart, an
inexhaustible spirit of adventure and fun--will influence many people
for years to come.
Jing bridged the gap between two worlds perhaps better than any person
I've come across in my life, and it seems to me that we must ensure
that the profound effect Jing had on so many people is not forgotten,
but rather is carried forward by Chinese and Americans sharing
language and friendship.
How do we honor Jing and make sure she is not forgotten? I'm not
really sure right now. Through expanding Chinese - English Corner to
influence as many people in the community as possible? Through posts
and photos of her? Something else? Please share your thoughts about
how we can keep Jing’s legacy alive.
