Technical Presentation and Job Search

One of my former Bell Labs colleagues told me: “YC, you cannot write a good paper even in Chinese.” Another one taught me how to write a proposal: “use figures, tables and itemized lists and you would finish a good proposal.” Why didn’t they ask me to polish my English? English is in fact not the major reason why we cannot give a good presentation or write a good paper. In this talk, we will discuss how to give an oral presentation using PPT slides and how to write a paper using a detailed outline. In addition, we will review a few key suggestions for effective job search.
This talk will be given at University Lutheran Chapel (1202 Folsom St, Boulder, CO 80302) close to the Engineering building from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm on Friday, February 27.
