One of the best options I've found is through HandsOn.
It looks like the best way to go is to pay up front $5/person.
Do you think we could put out $$ for 25 people and fill slots?
We could have people pay $5 through the meetup so we don't lose out on money.

Let me know your thoughts and I'll work on picking a date late March/early April so we have time to recruit.

Best,
Nadine

We typically get from 5-10 volunteers for Glide / SF Food Bank type of volunteer activities and we got 25 when we did Habitat for Humanity for our Annual Giving Day. We've never paid to be part of a volunteer activity. What are the benefits?

The benefits would be a little more structure and the opportunity to support a volunteer organization through $$$ and our time. I am exploring other opportunities (at no cost) but thought I'd float this one since HandsOn is such a recognized organization. Do you have any further thoughts/contacts Lisette since it seems you've organized this type of activity before? I would love to hear more about the Habitat for Humanity opportunity.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Best,
Nadine

I like the idea of people paying so it reinforces their commitment even if they flake which tends to happen. I will connect with you on a separate string.
