Volunteer Ideas

Hi all:)

About a month ago I met with a couple of classmates from our sutra
studies class to discuss volunteer opportunities within the Sunnyvale
area. I am including a link to Sunnyvale's city website
( www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/OD?FROM=15003 ), there you will see
a list on the left hand side of the page. Scroll down that list and
take a look at all the opportunities waiting for us! There is one
link on that page that I found most helpful, Hands on Bay Area
( www.handsonbayarea.org ). They have group-based activities and a
calendar of events.

Something I also suggested at our meeting was volunteering in
Sunnyvale's organic community garden ( www.charlesstreetgardens.org ),
we can learn new skills that can be implemented in our own garden.
They need volunteers every saturday 9-12 for a program that grows food
to donate to the local food banks....a literal merit field:)

Just some ideas to jump start some discussion and inspire us to
pursue. Enjoy!
