Hi everyone,
Given that everyone’s wug is probably slow today, I thought it was a good idea to send out an update.
Current backbone Links out the area.
Pro99 – KMAirwolf : Down/Decommissioned – we have the dishes for a new link.
Cheaptrick-Potman-Ryan-KM : Down for Bothasig, Potman has moved – Cheaptrick is looking at linking davemorley-samie-Ryan.
Cheaptrick-Atlas : Down, most likely the dish at Atlas moved in the wind.
Neptune-Borg : Up
Neptune-Ganymede : Up, but Ganymede MajorTom is down
Neptune-Moontop: Up, Carrying all Bothasig, and probably Richwood traffic
Also, We need to upgrade Pro99-Lurker, as the throughput of those 2 sxts at the moment is not very good, I was thinking we could get 2 litebeams and a Hex POE for lurker.
This will probably only benefit the current clients on Lurker, so I was hoping to get a feel for who is willing to contribute, to see if this is a viable upgrade.
The cost is as follows.
2xLiteBeam @ R925+VAT = R2109
Hex POE R1134+VAT = R1290
Total R3399
I have asked CTWUG to subsidise this upgrade, but the committee refused as they see Lurker as a deadend link.

Bruce, I have a grid pointing to nowhere, although probably slower, it could be used as a backup for now. Actually also a spare SXT on the pole that is not being used. It is currently on my internal IP range, but it could be connected to the wug router.
If we do upgrade, is there nowhere we can connect the SXT to for another route out of Bothasig.

Hello all. There is the Wolf/Dave Morley link that we need to try and have a look at to. This equipment is paid for by Wolf (Hennie). Also Samie/Dave link is already paid for 2x AC Litebeams that I have ready to go up.
