Hi guys,

We have received our new ip ranges for our area, we have a /20 which has been allocated as follows, there is another /20 available, but I don’t expect to need it in a hurry.

I believe we need to do our OSPF links with our own ranges too, we must completely remove all 172.18.x.x ip addresses.

172.26.48.0/24

Venus

172.26.49.0/24

Venus

172.26.50.0/24

Pluto

172.26.51.0/24

Borg

172.26.63.0/24

Emile, can you do yours and Ganymede.

Henk, can you do yours.

If anyone knows how to do theirs, please go ahead, otherwise I will work through them one at a time, and recruit help where I can get it.

Shadowclaw and Reaver, I will do yours from Cheaptrick’s range again.

Thanks

Maybe if someone in the knowledge has time they can write a quick howto, thereby enabling us to do it ourselves and maybe even learn something new...

I can do the OSPF for each ip range, then put something together for the highsite guys to do as much as possible, and each client to do their own.

There are quite a few variations though, based on whether they use NAT or not, or DHCP or not…

Hi guys.

Great news we are improving our network. Could someone tell me where I change the IP addresses. Do I change it in the wug settings and on pc? What is my new IP? I connect to DaveMorley.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Ivan,

You old range was

172.18.197.24/29

Your new range is

172.26.58.24/29

In ip addresses on your rb, you need to change both ips according to the instructions on my previous email.

Your network on your wlan will be 172.26.58.124

cid:image001.png@01D0AF2B.16310430

DaveMorley Sector Clients. Your new gateway ip is 172.26.58.124 and your new ips change from 172.18.197.x to 172.26.58.x

You will also need to change your WUG Route Gateway

Since you don’t use dhcp or NAT, you will need to change your pc ips too.

I realise these instruction are all over the place, let me know if anything is not clear.

Bruce

Hi Simon,

I think Mark did yours.

Yes, you will need to change your pcs, your new range is 172.26.60.152/29

So each pc ip, and on wind, you should just be able to change 18.30 to 26.60

Hi Stacy,

If I am not mistaken, you are connected to Lurker, we haven’t done those ips yet.

When we do, we will let you know what needs to be changed.

If you have a sebnet mask that will stay as it is, 255.255.255.240 for /28 and 255.255.255.248 for /29

Your gateway will change from 172.18.30.x to 172.26.60.x   for cheaptrick I think it is 172.26.60.250, mark may have done this on your rb already.

Hi,

Thanks for your help, I seem to be missing something as I cannot get my WUG working.

Please see my route print and network config and pls let me know what I missed.

My subnet has been configured as 255.255.255.240 as if I use 255.255.255.248 configuration complains about it.

Kind Regards,
Simon

Hi All

Is anyone else having problems like I am?  Checked my Wind details and all ip address correct. My node #6669 there. My ip address 172.26.58.25 to 30 there.

What am I doing wrong??? Any help would be great.

I Can see from wind maps if I connect to Pro99 #1275 I should get a better download speed then connect to DaveMorley1

But first I need to be connected...

Hi guys,

I will be removing all the 172.18.x.x ips from

Lurker

DaveMorley

Potman

In the next few days, if you have not moved over to your new 172.26.x.x ip range, please do so or your WUG will stop working until you do.

Pluto, Darkwing and Pro99 old ips have been released

Mark, can I remove your 172.18.30.x ips?

Borg and WildCat are in the process of moving over.  Venus should be next. Either Ogon or myself will do it.

Mark,

All the new ips are on the Sector,  all that is left to do is for each client to move their own, then I will remove the old ips.

Like I said before, they can each have a go, if they get it wrong or don’t know what to do, they can ask me (or you) to do it for them.

Saviger’s has been done successfully(without me having to do it), last I checked, only wind needed to be updated.

Hi Stacy,

Sorry, I have just realised that you have dhcp running on your rob, I have updated it,

Your wug should work after a reboot, I'm not sure why your internet is down, I would need to have a look,

Please run ipconfig /all and send me the results.

Thanks
