Free Bradford Pear Wood- you cut it, you get it

One of our new carvers, Jim Mischel, sent me this e-mail, let him know
if you are interested.

We met Wednesday morning at the carving club, and again on Thursday
night at the meeting.
If there are any carvers or turners in the club who like working with
found wood, I have something they might be interested in. My friend's
neighbor lost some very large limbs from his Bradford pear tree in
Thursday night's storm. I stopped by there this evening and talked to
the owner. He allowed me to take a few limbs, and he's going to
contact me once his insurance company comes to take a look.

If you know anybody in the club who'd like some pear to work with
(pieces ranging from 1/2" in diameter all the way up to 10 or 12
inches), have them get in touch with me via email, or at
512-799-7300. They'll of course have to dry it, and assistance
harvesting it would be greatly appreciated.

I drove by this morning. Both trees had been removed and all the wood
was gone. I'll be bringing a few pieces to the carving pack on
Wednesday morning in case anybody's interested.
