Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the publication of the latest issue of
NOvation – Critical Studies of Innovation, now available online:
👉
Latest issue:
https://revistas.ufpr.br/novation/issue/view/3898
The newly published issue features a diverse set of contributions that critically engage with contemporary debates in innovation studies, science and technology policy, and the political and institutional conditions shaping innovation practices. Through historical, conceptual, and empirical analyses, the articles collectively challenge pro-innovation orthodoxies and foreground alternative perspectives on governance, power, and social purpose. We would like to warmly acknowledge and thank our
editors and guest editors of this issue for their rigorous editorial work and intellectual stewardship, as well as all authors and reviewers whose contributions made this publication possible.
This issue brings together original contributions that advance critical, historical, and reflexive perspectives on innovation, science, technology, and policy—continuing NOvation’s commitment to plural, interdisciplinary, and socially grounded approaches to innovation studies.
📣 Calls for Papers – Thematic Issues in Preparation
We would also like to invite submissions to two upcoming
thematic issues, currently open for proposals:
1) Thematic Issue
“The Helix Framework and Beyond: Genealogies, Metaphors and Governance in STI Policy”,
https://revistas.ufpr.br/novation/announcement/view/910
This issue explores the intellectual origins, conceptual assumptions, and governance implications of Helix-based models (Triple, Quadruple, Quintuple, Sextuple Helix), situating them within broader debates on metaphors, ecosystems, and biologistic framings in STI policy.
2) Thematic Issue
“The Management Bias: from Science to Innovation”,
https://revistas.ufpr.br/novation/announcement/view/911
This issue critically examines the expansion of managerial logics into science, research, and innovation, addressing their epistemic, institutional, normative, and affective consequences, as well as alternatives to managerialist imaginaries.
For both thematic issues, proposals and submissions should be sent to:
