Session Description:
How does a single course evolve from a graduation requirement into the heart of a college’s Quality Enhancement Plan? This session explores the strategic transformation of ACA-122 (College Transfer Success) at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Presenters will share the journey of how ACA-122 became the QEP Navigate Forward centerpiece—a high-impact vehicle designed to instill a “Transfer Scholar” identity in students from day one.

Session Description:
Join us for a Q&A-style panel discussion that explores university admissions processes and best practices for supporting dual-enrolled high school students. As this population continues to grow across North Carolina, institutions are navigating a wide range of student pathways, including CCP, early and middle colleges, and Cooperative Innovative High Schools (CIHS). University policies, admissions processes, student experiences, and support structures can differ significantly depending on how students are dual enrolled. The goal of this Lunch & Learn is to help CTPA members better communicate with and support these students as they transition to postsecondary education.
Topics will include:
University admissions requirements, deadlines, and materials
Transfer student vs. first-year student designation and how decisions are made
Helping students understand their student type
Transferring of credits

This year’s conference focuses on supporting students as transfer pathways continue to evolve across North Carolina. The Drive-In Conference brings together transfer professionals from across the state to share best practices, policy updates, and innovative strategies that help students stay oriented and on course toward their academic transfer goals.
