Good morning everyone,

You may have already received this email from NC State Undergraduate Admissions if you are on our mailing list, but I wanted to share it here in case you did not. If you are not currently on the mailing list and would like to receive our semester newsletters, please complete the Counselor Connections form at your earliest convenience.

Below are the NC State Fall 2025 updates.

Fall 2025 Updates

Hi everyone,

We look forward to working with you and your students again this academic year! Transfer students are a valuable part of our community at NC State - about 20% of our current student population started their career at another college or university. We received 5,381 transfer applications for the fall 2025 semester and welcomed 1,686 new transfer students to campus this past August.

Dates and Deadlines
Students interested in transferring to NC State for the 2026 academic year can now apply using either the Common Application or the NC State Transfer Application. The deadline to apply for spring 2026 entry is October 12025, while applications for fall 2026 must be submitted by February 15, 2026. More information about the application process, deadlines, decision release dates, and credit opportunities for transfer students is available on our transfer student webpage.

New Major Option: Music Technology
We are excited to share that Music Technology is now open as a major option for external transfer students beginning this year. Students interested in applying to this program must submit their application by November 1 and are required to provide both a digital portfolio and an essay as part of the review process.

The digital portfolio should serve as both a showcase of the student’s engagement with music and music technology and a collection of their strongest work in these areas. Instructions for uploading the digital portfolio will be provided in the student's wolfPAW portal. The essay gives students an opportunity to describe their skills and experiences in music technology, music performance, and other musical activities, and it will also be submitted via the wolfPAW portal.

Recommendations for Competitive Applicants

We have updated our Recommendations for Competitive Applicants page to provide clearer guidance for prospective transfer students. This resource outlines the suggested college courses and GPA criteria for each NC State major. While completing these recommendations does not guarantee admission, it helps students prepare for success and be considered competitive in our review process.

New this year, the recommendations are presented in an easy-to-read table format. Each table shows the recommended course alongside its NC State equivalent and the corresponding NC Community College course.

Wolfpack Connect
We recently launched Wolfpack Connect, a new guaranteed admission pathway to NC State for North Carolina Community College students! This program is for students who commit to earning an AA or AS degree at a participating North Carolina Community College. Students can earn guaranteed admission to one of more than 100 majors and concentrations by following program eligibility requirements. They are guided by our transfer guides and the NC State Transfer Planner, ensuring their coursework counts toward their degree.

Our eligibility form for a fall 2026 start in the program will be available in late January 2026. For more information, visit our Wolfpack Connect webpage

Transfer Advisor Virtual Sessions
This fall semester, we will be hosting three virtual sessions for transfer advisors. Each session is designed to provide timely updates and practical resources to support your work with students:

  • Counselor & Advisor Transfer Session – Admissions Data, Trends & Enrollment Insights - Get the latest on NC State’s transfer admissions, including recent class data, key trends, and upcoming initiatives.
  • Counselor & Advisor Transfer Session – Strategies & Resources for Building Competitive Applicants - Learn best practices, deadlines, and tools to help your students strengthen their transfer applications to NC State.
  • Transfer Planner Demo - See how NC State’s Transfer Planner helps students map college coursework toward degree requirements for a smoother transfer.

Advisors can register for these events on our Transfer Advisor Events Page. Can't attend? No problem! Register anyway and we’ll send you the recording once the event is over.

If you have new staff in your office, please encourage them to join our email list by filling out our counselor connection form.

At NC State, we are committed to guiding and assisting you and your students through the application process. Should you have any questions, please feel free to email our office at undergrad-...@ncsu.edu or call us at (919) 515-2434.

Hello everyone:

Just sharing an update to the Wolfpack Connect program. The NCCCS office has partnered with NCSU to simplify the process by which Community Colleges join the Wolfpack Connect program. An email was shared with the CC Presidents and CAOs early last week with information about how to join the program. Many Colleges have already completed the interest form, and we will begin processing the applications later this week. There are also two information sessions being offered to learn more. Please reach out to your leadership if you want more details.

We are very excited about this and future partnerships. This project is a pilot for how the system office can further assist colleges with developing academic and enrollment-focused agreements. More opportunities to join agreements like this will be developed over the next year. Stay tuned for more!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
