WASHINGTON–U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is taking the stage at the People’s State of the Union, a rally on the National Mall counterprogramming President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress. Providing Americans an alternative to President Trump’s divisive, dishonest speech, Murphy will speak to the extraordinary harm President Trump’s cruel, failed policies have caused American families over the last year.
Murphy’s guest for the event is Ferestheh Ganjavi, an Afghan refugee and Executive Director of Elena’s Light, a Connecticut non-profit dedicated to helping refugee families integrate into the United States.
