Beardsley Bart Groundhog Day Countdown & Proclamation at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo

As winter continues to blanket Connecticut with snow and frigid temperatures, a beloved Beardsley Zoo figure is offering a dose of optimism.

WHAT:             Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo launched a Groundhog Day countdown featuring Beardsley Bart, the Zoo’s longtime seasonal puppet mascot. In a series of short clips filmed throughout the Zoo, Bart is seen visiting familiar spots, interacting with animal habitats, and preparing for his annual Groundhog Day proclamation.

Rather than predicting shadows or forecasting the weather, Beardsley Bart delivers a simple and hopeful message:   Spring is coming.

The countdown includes video clips across the Zoo’s social media platforms; some set to familiar and playful background music to vibe with the long winter stretch and culminates on Groundhog Day with Bart’s official proclamation.

You are invited to share Bart’s proclamation and his countdown journey in celebration of Groundhog Day.
