HIMES TO HOST MENTAL HEALTH ROUNDTABLE, ATTEND EMERGENCY MEDICAL TEAM-TRAINING

 

Stamford, CT – Tomorrow, May 30^th at 9:00 AM,  Congressman Himes will host a roundtable with the Stamford Youth Mental Health Alliance and their local partners. The conversation will include members from public and private organizations across the city, and focus on resources for young people facing mental health challenges.

 

Then, at 10:30 AM, Congressman Jim Himes will attend an Americares emergency medical team training. The event will include over 60 staff and volunteers participating in hands-on simulation exercises focused on care for survivors of hurricanes, earthquakes, and other emergencies. Headquartered in Stamford, CT, Americares is a health-focused relief and development organization that responds to more than 30 emergencies worldwide every year. This event comes at the start of the Connecticut’s hurricane season which begins on June 1^st.
