Reps. Candelora, Klarides-Ditria Named
CCEP Legislators of the Year
House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora (R-86) and State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R-105) have been named co-Legislators of the Year by the Connecticut College of Emergency Physicians (CCEP)!
In their announcement, the CCEP noted that the veteran legislators are being recognized "for their work on elevating emergency department overcrowding through the establishment of the Hospital Discharge Working Group and passage of many provisions in Senate Bill 7, as well as opposing legislation (HB 6871) that would’ve rolled back an important 2016 law regarding out-of-network billing for emergency department services."
“I’m pleased we were able to provide support to frontline doctors and medical staff this past session, including with the working group to reduce emergency room overcrowding and other distractions that take a doctor’s focus away from treating patients,” Rep. Candelora said. “I want to thank the CCEP for this award, and look forward to working on future initiatives that increase access to healthcare.”
"I am humbled by this honor, but the truly important work is being done by the emergency doctors who make sure every patient is treated compassionately, professionally, and quickly, and I want to thank them for always putting others first," Rep. Klarides-Ditria said. "It's an honor to be recognized by the CCEP and I will continue to advocate for more affordable services and better healthcare outcomes for all of Connecticut’s residents."
The Connecticut College of Emergency Physicians formally presented the awards during their Annual Scientific Assembly on Wednesday, November 5th at Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter Medical School in North Haven.
