WASHINGTON–U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is on the floor of the U.S. Senate calling out the Trump administration for refusing to explain to the American people the objectives and projected timeline for the war with Iran, and the impending economic fallout from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Following his efforts alongside his Democratic colleagues to force a public debate on the war earlier this week, Murphy will demand that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio come before Congress to answer those questions, and explain how the United States bombed a girls’ elementary school on the first day of the war.
