Mayor Elicker to Participate in Intersection to Connection Press Event

Phase 1 Celebration; Phase 2 Announcement

 

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Tomorrow, June 8 at 10:30 AM Mayor Justin Elicker will join Town Green District Executive Director, Win Davis and community stakeholders for a press event celebrating the Phase 1 completion of ‘Intersection to Connection’. Speakers will include: Town Green District Executive Director Win Davis, City of New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker, City of New Haven TT&P Doug Hausladen, Hines Development Sean Sacks, New Haven Innovation Collaborative Michael Harris, and Town Green District Project Manager, Elizabeth Bickley.

 

In addition to adding 14 planters along the railroad overpass, phase 1 involved 50 volunteers painting 6 vibrant creative crosswalks across the busy Chapel Street thoroughfare, led by Town Green with stencil designs by Marissa Dionne Mead and Ioana Barac of Atelier Cue and color scheme chosen by the community. Phase 2 will involve larger scale improvements – 66 colorful panels and pedestrian-focused lighting. Property owners Hines and Beacon Communities are generously contributing to phase 2 and invite other corporate sponsors to do the same. Town Green District will also be announcing a community fundraising program, inviting the community to further become part of the process.
