Mayor Ganim and the City of Bridgeport to Celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Hosted by the Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick's Day Celebration Committee

 

Bridgeport, CTMayor Ganim in partnership with The Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Celebration Committee announces its annual St. Patrick’ Day parade along Fairfield Avenue in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport. On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the parade will start at 12:00PM from the Burroughs Community Center at the corner of Ellsworth Street and end at the corner of Courtland Avenue.

 

Fairfield Avenue from Wordin Avenue to Ash Creek will be closed from 11:00 AM for the parade. A parking ban will be in effect and cars along Fairfield Avenue will be towed.

 

St. Patrick’s Day Activities Include:

 

  • 8:00 a.m. – Mass at St. Augustine Cathedral, 399 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport
  • 9:15 a.m. – Flag Raising Ceremony at Old City Hall, 45 Lyon Terrace, Bridgeport
  • 10:00 a.m. – Grand Marshal’s Breakfast at Park City Music Hall, 2926 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport.  Tickets are $40 per person and attendance is limited to 100 guests
  • 12:00 PM – Parade in Black Rock Starts at Burroughs Community, 2470 Fairfield Avenue (corner of Fairfield Avenue and Ellsworth Street) and travels down Fairfield Avenue and ends at the corner of Courtland Avenue
  • 2:00 p.m. – Scholarship Awards Ceremony & Aer Lingus Drawing in the large tent at The Castle, Black Rock 

 

Road updates and detours during the parade are as follows:

  • Alternate routes for local access: Orland Street to Ellsworth Street to Crowther Ave heading into Canfield Ave and off Brewster Street. Albion Street will also serve as an alternate route.
  • Local access will only be provided past Brewster Street for residents that live on Wilson, Bennett, and Fox Street.
  • There will be no parking on either side of Orland Street up to Ellsworth Street, Ellsworth up to Crowther Ave, and Crowther Ave and Canfield Ave up to Brewster Street.
  • No tractor trailers will be allowed on either alt route. tractor trailers will utilize commerce drive.
