MURPHY STATEMENT ON PASSAGE OF 21STCENTURY ROAD TO HOUSING ACT
WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released a statement after both the Senate and House passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act:
“The cost of housing is the number one issue I hear about from people in Connecticut. Congress has sat back as rents skyrocketed, and home ownership
got further and further out of reach. This bill is a necessary first step to addressing this crisis by making it easier to build more homes, simplifying how we repair older homes, and creating consequences for the greedy corporations gobbling up single-family
homes in our neighborhoods just to jack up rent on families.”
