State Representative Treneé McGee (D-116), State Senators Cathy Osten (D-19), Ceci Maher (D-26), and Department of Children and Families Commissioner Susan Hamilton will join the Connecticut Hospital Association and advocates for a press conference to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month by raising awareness about how infants can be protected through Connecticut's Safe Havens Act for Newborns on Wednesday, April 29th, at 11 a.m. in Room 1C at the LOB.

 

The law, passed in 2000, allows a parent who does not believe they can care for their newborn to voluntarily relinquish custody of an infant age 30 days or younger to the staff of an emergency room and remain anonymous.
