Bob Stefanowski Is Too Extreme For Connecticut
Stefanowski is campaigning with far-right extremist groups, donating to anti-abortion candidates, and earning rave reviews from anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+ leaders
Hartford, CT – Every day Bob Stefanowski is showing Connecticut voters where he stands on top issues like public safety, abortion, guns, and vaccines, and just how close he is to Donald Trump and his far-right, extremist friends. Stefanowski is too extreme for Connecticut.
Reminders:
Bob Stefanowski received the highest possible grade from the NRA, but didn’t release the questionnaire to tell us how he earned that rating.
Bob Stefanowski attended and spoke at an event held by Connecticut Residents Against Medical Mandates (CTRAMM), a group organized to ban mask and vaccine mandates at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the event, Stefanowski emphasized he continues to work closely with CTRAMM’s leadership, meeting with its founder Kate Kraemer Prokop every couple of weeks. He thanked them for their support.
Bob Stefanowski has the support of CT Truth PAC, an independent-expenditure group supporting his candidacy with television and digital ads that attack Gov. Lamont. David Kelsey, the sole donor of CT Truth PAC, also hosted a fundraiser for Bob Stefanowski, which Bob attended. Just how closely are they coordinated?
Thomas McInerney contributed $750,000 to CT Truth and hundreds of thousands more to the RNC, Mitch McConnell and his PACs. McInerney currently sits on the board of the right-wing group, the Manhattan Institute, which denies climate change and opposes renewable energy.
Bob Stefanowski also has the support of anti-choice extremist Sean Fieler and his pro-Bob super PAC, Parents Against Stupid Stuff. This extremist PAC is spreading misinformation about critical race theory and transgender athletes.
Bob Stefanowski made the maximum $5,800 contribution to support extreme anti-choice Republican Leora Levy and contributed $4,000 to Peter Lumaj, another top anti-choice Republican.
Bob Stefanowski’s plan to cut the income tax would devastate public services in our state like public safety.
Bob Stefanowski claims he will fight inflation and help families, but he has publicly opposed Gov. Lamont’s historic tax cuts that are helping thousands of working families.
Bob Stefanowski received Donald Trump’s endorsement when he first ran for governor in 2018, and gave Trump an “A” grade following the Supreme Court nominations of Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch. Now Leora Levy, who was recently endorsed by Donald Trump, is the endorsed Republican for Senate.
Led by Bob Stefanowski and now Leora Levy, the Connecticut Republican Party has gone too far-right for Connecticut voters. The statewide Republican ticket is too extreme for Connecticut.
“Elections have consequences and voters must pay attention to what the candidates are saying and doing at every level. We have too much at stake to elect far-right candidates to represent Connecticut," said Sarah Locke, Executive Director of the Connecticut Democratic Party. "We cannot and we will not allow Bob Stefanowski and his Republican ticket to take us back in time and undo our progress."
