BACKGROUND: State Representatives announce a partnership with Connecticut United Ways on assistance for groceries. 
With nearly 58,000 families in Connecticut predicted to have lost significant SNAP benefits as a result of the federal H.R.1. bill, and the financial hardship exacerbated in the winter months, this initiative will provide grocery store gift cards to individuals by December 31. 
As a proven statewide partner for rapid response, Connecticut United Ways are mobilizing resources quickly and efficiently to respond to the issues impacting residents the most.
