Three of the speakers at the event entitled “Join the Campaign to Free Dr. Abu Safiya” at the Palestinian Museum US will be current or past office holders. The event will take place at the museum on Sat. 12/13 at 2 p.m. The museum is located at 1764 Litchfield Turnpike, Woodbridge, CT 06525.
Speakers at the event include Abdul Osmanu, member of the Hamden Legislative Council, Jillian Gilchrest (D) West Hartford, and David Michel, former state representative Stamford (D). The featured speaker will be Dr. Mark Perlmutter who is a North Carolina orthopedic and hand surgeon who has been on medical missions to Gaza this year and in 2024. The program will start with recorded remarks by a Dr. Ali Tahrawi who lives and treats patients in Gaza. The media is welcome to attend.

At the close of the meeting those in the hall will hold up signs and banners calling for the Israeli government to free Dr. Sufiya immediately. He’s been in Israeli detention without charges since Dec. 27, 2024.
