Youth Leaders to Discuss Connecticut’s Progress and the Work Still Needed to End Gun Violence

NEWTOWN, CT — Governor Ned Lamont will join members of Jr Newtown Action Alliance (Jr NAA) for a youth-led roundtable discussion on gun violence prevention on Friday, June 5, 2026, ahead of the community’s National Gun Violence Awareness Day Rally and March.

Moderated by Newtown Action Alliance Chairwoman Po Murray, the conversation will bring together youth advocates and state leadership to discuss Connecticut’s progress in reducing gun violence, the importance of youth civic engagement, and the policies and investments still needed to build a future free from gun violence.
