State Representative Bobby Sanchez Responds to Tragic Loss in New Britain, Urges Accountability and Reform
“As a father who raised my own child just three streets away, I feel nothing but sorrow and loss for everyone affected by this unimaginable tragedy. We failed this little girl and we failed her as a community. There must be a full investigation and accountability at every level. What did DCF know, and when? What did the school system know, and when? What did the police know, and when? These questions demand honest answers.
While the investigation is ongoing, one thing is already clear: we must work together with law enforcement, social services, schools, and families to prevent tragedies like this. Every child deserves to be safe, seen, and protected. It is unacceptable for any child in our city to fall through the cracks. As your State Representative, and as your next Mayor, I will do everything in my power to ensure those responsible are held accountable and that no family in New Britain ever endures a loss like this again.”
