“Both Democrats and Republicans in Congress knew escalating toward a war with Iran was simply unaffordable. I applaud them for voting to pass the Iran War Powers Resolution.

Donald Trump’s reckless escalation is a disaster for our country and everyday Americans. At a time when Connecticut families are already feeling the impact of rising costs and skyrocketing gas prices, Trump is writing another blank check for an unnecessary foreign conflict.

We should be investing in our communities and lowering costs for families, not funding another open-ended war overseas. I stood up against the Iraq War in 2006 on these exact same principles, and I’m standing up to Donald Trump’s unaffordable agenda today."
