State Representative Derell Wilson (D- Norwich) will join civil rights and personal injury attorney Benjamin Crump for a press conference on Mental Health and Law Enforcement on Thursday, April 30th, in Room 2B of the Legislative Office Building.

Crump was in Hartford recently and spoke on behalf of the family of Steven "Stevie" Jones, a Black Man fatally wounded by a Hartford police officer in February.

The press conference will also serve as a precursor to Rep. Wilson's "Legislative Day," when over 100 students from the CT NAACP Youth & College Division will learn how the legislative process works from beginning to end, including passing a bill.

Considering recent events, the students will work to pass a bill on mental health and law enforcement, aiming to bring it to the floor during the 2027 legislative session.

What: Press Conference on Mental Health and Law Enforcement
