ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG TO VISIT ENFIELD TO DISCUSS ELDER JUSTICE ISSUES & HOTLINE

(Hartford, CT) — At 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, Attorney General William Tong will be speaking with residents of Mark Twain Congregate Housing about the Elder Justice Hotline and issues/scams facing older adults today.

The Office of the Attorney General, in cooperation with the Coalition for Elder Justice in Connecticut (CEJC), launched the Elder Justice Hotline in 2021 to help older adults in Connecticut seek information, assistance, and justice. Elder justice issues can range from age-based discrimination in the workplace to scams and frauds, elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. As a result, no one state agency can answer every question. The Consumer Advocacy Section of the Office of the Attorney General staffs the hotline and refers matters as appropriate to agencies across state government.

WHAT: Attorney General Tong to discuss Elder Justice Hotline and issues/scams facing older Americans

WHO: Attorney General William Tong, State Sen. John Kissel, representatives from AARP

WHEN:  Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

WHEREMark Twain Congregate Housing, 110 South Road, Enfield
