FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 13, 2026

New Britain, Conn. - When the Fiscal team at Hospital for Special Care needed additional support, Central student Kayla Beaulieu of Rocky Hill stepped in and quickly became an indispensable member of the team.

For her efforts, Beaulieu was recently named Volunteer of the Year by Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) in New Britain in recognition of her outstanding service, reliability, and commitment to teamwork.

The award precedes Beaulieu’s upcoming graduation from Central with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She is graduating magna cum laude in and has earned the Sociology Department’s Honors Award.

Although she volunteered with the organization for a relatively short time, colleagues said Beaulieu made an immediate and lasting impression through her adaptability and strong work ethic. She quickly transitioned from filing invoices to managing the accounts payable inbox and posting invoices.

Colleagues at Hospital for Special Care also credited Beaulieu with bringing “a bright, cheerful energy” to the Fiscal team, adding that her contributions made a meaningful difference across the department.

Hospital leaders praised Beaulieu for her willingness to help wherever needed and for consistently bringing a positive attitude to the workplace. In announcing the award, the hospital noted that she “embodies the spirit of teamwork and HFSC’s core value of Caring.”
