WASHINGTON—On Tuesday, July 14 at 12:15PM ET, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) will join U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) and Indivisible, Americans for Financial Reform, and actor and writer Ben McKenzie, at a press conference to discuss the dangers of the CLARITY Act and its failure to rein in President Donald Trump’s corrupt crypto schemes, as well as the growing political corruption driven by the cryptocurrency industry's influence in Washington. Speakers will call out how the legislation would benefit the crypto industry while weakening oversight and examine how unprecedented crypto spending in federal elections is buying influence and shaping public policy.
