Leading Mass. Health Care Expert To Speak
At 3 P.M. Monday, Jan. 9, In Room 1D OF LOB
A working group of small business leaders and legislators convened by House Speaker Christopher G. Donovan (D-Meriden) will hear Patrick Holland, managing director of Wakely Consulting Group, give a presentation on health care reform in Massachusetts at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, in Room 1D of the Legislative Office Building.
Holland was one of the leading figures in the implementation of health care reform in Massachusetts. As the first chief financial officer, he led the financial operations and health plan procurements for the Health Connector, a first in the nation health insurance exchange, from its inception in 2006 through February 2010.
The working group, chaired by Rep. Robert Megna (D-New Haven), House chair of the Insurance Committee, will also continue its discussion about obstacles and opportunities for small business owners seeking to purchase health insurance coverage for employees and their families. The group later will make recommendations on how best to address health insurance needs of the small business workforce.
