United Way of Greater New Haven rallies volunteers to distribute turkeys and Thanksgiving groceries to seniors in New Haven
New Haven, CT — Join United Way of Greater New Haven as we partner with Vertical Church to distribute over 100 turkeys and other Thanksgiving grocery items to seniors in New Haven at the Atwater Senior Center.
On Friday, November 21, a team of volunteers will work together to set up a food pantry and distribute Thanksgiving groceries to seniors. According to the latest ALICE data,
nearly
210,000 of Connecticut’s 65+ households were below the ALICE Threshold* and struggle to afford basic necessities. As economic hardships continue to grow for the senior population, these events are critical
to ensuring households can stretch their budgets.
