Help CitySeed provide fresh, local food for all

Dear friends,

This weekend, thanks to your generosity, more than 200 of our neighbors who rely on SNAP brought home fresh and local vegetables, fruit, eggs, meat, honey, bread, mushrooms and much more from our Wooster Square and Edgewood farmers markets, more than triple the typical number of weekend SNAP transactions.

When we arrived for early morning setup, we found lines already forming. Here is some of what we heard:

"It was awesome. I can literally make soup and veggie fries at home for the kids and myself. I am very thankful."

"It's a nice atmosphere. Everyone is so nice when I get here."

"This is very nice that somebody donated for everybody and everyone can get their fresh fruits and meats."

"They are a blessing. I am so grateful the community stepped up to help people like me and my family that are in the hardship of SNAP not being available."

You can read more in the New Haven Independent.

Though we only planned for 100 visitors, we could not turn anyone away - and we need your help to ensure that we can continue to support our neighbors for as long as SNAP benefits are unavailable. Thank you for standing in partnership with us to provide fresh, local food for all.
