Tuesday at 11AM, Larson Joins Advocacy Groups to Discuss Fiscal Commission Recommendations, Calls for Protection of Social Security
Hartford, CT- Tomorrow at 11AM in Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building, U.S. Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01) will join the Connecticut Alliance for Retired Americans and the Connecticut
AFL-CIO to discuss the recent proposal by a national fiscal commission. The proposal calls for the reduction of the federal deficit by making critical cuts to Social Security, an action which will hurt current and future seniors in Connecticut and nationwide.
Larson and invited speakers will address the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform’s recent Chairmen’s Mark proposal in advance to the final issuance of its recommendations on December 1st.
Approximately one out of every five individuals Congressman Larson represents in the Hartford region is a recipient of Social Security benefits, the largest percentage of all the state’s congressional districts.
