ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG, SENATOR BLUMENTHAL, SENATOR DUFF, SENATOR NEEDLEMAN TO SEEK ANSWERS FROM OPTIMUM ON ILL-TIMED, ANTI-CONSUMER PLAN TO CUT INTERNET SPEEDS
(Hartford, CT) – At noon on Thursday, July 1 outside the Office of the Attorney General, Attorney General William Tong, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, State Senator Bob Duff (D-Norwalk), State Senator Norm Needleman (D-Essex) will demand answers from Optimum regarding the Internet service provider’s anti-consumer plan to dramatically cut Internet speeds starting on July 12.
Attorney General Tong, Senator Blumenthal, Senator Duff and Senator Needleman will stress how the plan will harm Connecticut families and businesses still heavily reliant on telecommuting and Internet access to stay safe and connected during the pandemic.
