DODD ANNOUNCES STAFF PROMOTIONS
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Chris Dodd today announced that his long-time aide, Jim Fenton, has been promoted to Chief of Staff. Fenton, a native of West Hartford, Connecticut, will replace outgoing Chief of Staff Miles Lackey, who was recently named Staff Director for the House Committee on Rules.
“For the last two years, Miles has led a team of talented and dedicated individuals through one of the busiest, albeit most rewarding, legislative sessions in my time in Senate. His leadership during both the health care reform and financial reform debates was truly indispensible. His sharp mind and unique sense of humor will be missed, and I wish him the best of luck in his new job,” said Dodd.
“While Miles’ shoes will be difficult to fill, I am fortunate to have someone like Jim Fenton on my team to take the reins as I finish out my time in the Senate. Jim has been a key member of my staff for the last 14 years—serving as both my Staff Director for the Subcommittee on Children and Families and my Legislative Director—and his encyclopedic knowledge of both Connecticut and the Senate makes him a natural choice as my next Chief of Staff.”
Senator Dodd also announced the promotion of Jeremy Sharp to the position of Legislative Director and Tamar Magarik Haro to Staff Director for the Subcommittee on Children and Families. As members of Dodd’s subcommittee staff, Sharp and Magarik Haro played an integral role in the health care reform debate in addition to handling Senator Dodd’s other priorities on the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
