Oak Woods To Provide 47 New Homes For Working Families in Plymouth

June 12, 2025 (Trumbull, CT) - Connecticut Housing Partners (CHP) is proud to announce the launch of Oak Woods, a $24 million affordable housing development that will bring 47 brand-new, energy-efficient townhomes to Terryville, CT. Construction is scheduled to begin this week, marking a step forward for families across the region seeking stable, high-quality homes they can afford.

Nestled on 29 acres of green landscape at 9 Scott Road, Oak Woods is a ground-up investment in the future of Connecticut’s working families. This build marks a milestone for CHP and its mission to reimagine affordable housing as a foundation for opportunity, dignity, A collage of a road with a house and trees

Oak Woods will feature 47 two-bedroom, townhouse-style units across nine residential buildings, designed to foster safe, inclusive, and connected communities. The development will prioritize both sustainability and livability, offering modern amenities within an environmentally conscious design.

“The Oak Woods development is a brand-new build and an example of what’s possible when we invest in people. Every unit will represent a family’s fresh start, stability for children, and a community’s resilience” said Renée Dobos, CEO of Connecticut Housing Partners. “We believe affordable housing is not a privilege but a cornerstone of thriving, equitable communities for residents. We’re proud to lead this charge and bring these homes to Terryville.”

“Oak Woods Apartments reflects the kind of investment that strengthens communities—offering high-quality, affordable homes for a range of income levels, including individuals with disabilities who have experienced homelessness," said Nandini Natarajan, CEO and Executive Director of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority. "Developments like this expand housing choice in a town with relatively limited affordable options, providing stability for families, and demonstrating the power of partnerships to deliver real impact in towns like Plymouth and across the state.”

Oak Woods is made possible through visionary partnerships between public and private institutions. Webster Bank, the Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH), the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA), and CREA, the project’s tax credit investor, are among the key funders who have joined CHP in supporting the Oak Woods development.

With an 18-month construction timeline, Oak Woods is expected to open its doors to families by late 2026. Throughout the development process, CHP will document progress and share stories from the site, offering behind-the-scenes updates on their social media platforms @cthousingpartners.
