High Level Federal Trade Rep to Discuss Obama Administration’s Trade Policy to Local Business Owners
Invited to Connecticut by Congressman Larson and U.S. Commercial Service Office.
Hartford, CT- Tomorrow at the Capewell Components Company in South Windsor, U.S. Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01) and Anne Evans, Connecticut Director of the U.S. Commercial Service Office, will host a presentation by Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Demtrios Marantis for local business owners on the Obama Administration’s U.S. Trade Policy and discuss the newly created National Export Initiative.
The event will take place on Wednesday, June 16th with registration beginning at 4:00pm and the presentation starting at 4:30pm. To RSVP, please contact Congressman Larson’s office at 860-278-8888.
Created by Presidential Executive Order in March 2010, the National Export Initiative is an interagency partnership tasked to address our nation’s trade barriers by meeting the goal of doubling exports over the next 5 years. In order to accomplish the goal, Federal agencies will be assisting firms, especially small businesses, to overcome the hurdles of entering new export markets.
This year, Congressman Larson has hosted numerous forums and events to listen to the concerns of small business owners and connect them to the resources and technical assistance needed to sustain and grow their businesses. Earlier this month, Congressman Larson held a Small Business Federal Resource Seminar which included the U.S. Department of Commerce and Small Business Administration that attracted small business owners from across the state.
